Rafaela Defigueiredo Spence - "Dr, D."

Principal DefigueiredoGreetings Taylor Families, I’m Rafaela DeFigueiredo Spence, and I’ve had the privilege of serving as the principal of Taylor School since 2015. As a proud NBPS graduate (Go Whalers!), it’s truly an honor to lead and learn alongside this incredible school community.

At Taylor, we believe in more than just academics; we’re committed to providing high-quality instruction while also nurturing the social-emotional well-being of every student. We set the bar high, and we’re here to help each child reach their fullest potential, both in the classroom and beyond.

But here’s the truth: we can’t do it alone. Families, caregivers, and community partners are at the heart of our success. Together, we create the strong foundation our students need to thrive. Supporting your child by keeping in touch with teachers, making sure they come to school prepared and ready to learn, and helping them show up every day truly makes a difference.

I’m excited for the year ahead and grateful for your partnership. Let’s work together to make this a year where every Taylor student shines!

With gratitude,
Rafaela DeFigueiredo Spence - "Dr. D."
Principal, Taylor School
